
Andy Kuemmel
Andy Kuemmel taught high school Mathematics and Computer Science in rural, suburban, and urban school districts for 29 years. His teaching practice was strongly influenced by constructivist pedagogy and by the process of becoming a National Board Certified Teacher in Adolescence and Young Adulthood Mathematics. After many years teaching Advanced Placement courses in Computer Science, Calculus, and Statistics, Andy became involved in the AP Computer Science Principles program as a pilot instructor, a member of the Development Committee, and as a leader of AP summer institute workshops.
Andy joined the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin in 2018. His passions include working with students from underrepresented groups in computer science, training TAs in inclusive teaching practices, and teaching introductory courses.
Andy and his family live in Madison, Wisconsin.
